- You have realistic expectations.
A national study showed that 99% of patients achieved 20/40 vision without contacts or glasses.
In most states, 20/40 natural vision means that you could pass the requirements for a driver's license exam
without glasses. However, normal or natural vision should not be confused with perfect vision. Perfection cannot be guaranteed.
A good LASIK candidate is someone who has realistic expectations. No one can guarantee 20/20 or perfect vision.
Healing is an individual process, and for candidates over the age of 40, the normal aging process may require the use of reading glasses.
