A longstanding tradition of excellence.

Mielcarek Eye Lifetime Vision Center was founded by Dr. Lee Mielcarek, Jr., a board certified ophthalmologist, and his wife, Eileen Dickson Mielcarek, a certified surgical nurse.  From day one, they have been dedicated to providing high-quality vision care along with a genuine neighborly concern for their patients’ well-being.

The Mielcarek Eye Lifetime Vision Center team consists of Dr. Charles Alexander, a board-certified ophthalmologist, and optometrists Dr. Bruce Feinberg and Dr. Ines Casado-Strine.

To stay at the forefront of their field, our eye doctors complete many hours of continuing education each year and are active members of many professional organizations.

Our 5,400-square-foot office makes you feel comfortable and right at home.  It features a warmly appointed reception area, private eye exam and consultation rooms, conference room for vision seminars, spacious optical boutique and the Aesthetic Center.

Leading-edge vision exams.
At Mielcarek Eye Lifetime Vision Center, we use innovative diagnostic equipment to diagnose eye disease or other abnormalities early, often before they present any symptoms.  Early detection means early treatment, which is the best way to preserve your vision and reduce severe complications that can occur.  Our diagnostic capabilities include the following:

• Corneal topography
• Computerized visual field exam
• Marco EPIC electronic refraction
• iZon® WaveFront analyzer
• Ultrasound A & B scans
• Heidelberg retinal tomography (HRT)
• IOLMaster biometry
• Fundus photography & OCT

Once your eye exam is complete, your test results will be thoroughly explained so you have a complete understanding of your current eye health needs.

Comprehensive care.

Cataract surgery
— Our ophthalmologists have performed over 10,000 cataract surgeries combined, the majority of which require no stitches.  With this simple outpatient procedure, your cataract is removed and a state-of-the-art lens (ReSTOR®, Crystalens®, TECNIS® and ACRYSOF® toric) is implanted to restore your vision.  We are currently one of only 500 ophthalmology practices in the US who use these revolutionary lenses.

Refractive surgeryLASIK can safely and effectively eliminate nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.  Our ophthalmologists perform this procedure with the revolutionary ALLEGRETTO WAVE® laser and WaveFront technology for the best results possible.  You’ll feel confident knowing that our ophthalmologists have performed many thousands of LASIK and PRK procedures.

Glaucoma treatment — When treating glaucoma, our eye doctors always look at conservative approaches first, such as pressure-reducing eyedrops.  If indicated, effective laser treatment called selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) or laser iridotomy is performed, both of which offer excellent results and a rapid recovery time.

Surgical & nonsurgical cosmetic procedures — Now you can get the fresh, sparkling and confident look you want at our in-office Aesthetic Center.  Our eye doctors offer Botox®, fillers such as Juvéderm® and Restylane®, facials and chemical peels.  They also offer eyelid tucks for an even more refreshed look.  Eileen Mielcarek, RN, and her skincare team can rejuvenate your appearance with microdermabrasion and Obagi. Latisse® is also available for longer, fuller eyelashes.

Dry eye treatment — Our eye doctors can provide you with welcome relief from irritated, excessively tearing and dry eyes.  Treatment methods may include artificial tears, prescription ointments, vitamins and neutraceuticals.  They also offer punctal plugs in-office and prescribe Restasis® to help increase tear production, when appropriate.  Another option is Wiley X® sunglasses that reduce the symptoms of dry eye.

Macular degeneration management — This is a painless progressive disease that can result in severe vision loss.  We take a natural approach to macular degeneration, but routine eye examinations are the first step in lowering your risk.  We also are discovering exciting new insights into treatments such as wearing UV-protected glasses and taking vitamin supplements.  If our eye doctors determine that you need more advanced treatment, they will work with a board certified retinal surgeon.

Diabetic eye disease management — If you have diabetes, you are at increased risk for retinal problems.  Our eye doctors can offer a natural approach to managing diabetic eye disease, including vitamin supplements, fish oil capsules and annual eye exams.  They will also recommend that you see your primary-care physician (or endocrinologist) as needed to have your blood-sugar level, blood pressure and cholesterol checked.
