Will I have 20/20 vision?
We hope so, but with any medical procedure there is no guarantee that you will not need corrective lenses.

Does it hurt?
Patients report that they felt no pain during the procedure. After the procedure most patients report an irritated eye for 24 hours.

Will I be able to see after the procedure?
Most patients have functional vision in one to three days.

How long has Dr. Mielcarek performed LASIK?
Since the FDA approval in July 1999, but he has over 10 years of refractive surgery experience.

Is the procedure covered by insurance?
Contact your insurance carrier but know that most do not cover this type of procedure.

What is the benefit of having the procedure?
It will be a positive change because it decreases your dependency on glasses or contact lenses.

When can I drive?
You may drive in 24 hours as long as your vision is stable.

Alcon laser.

How long does the procedure take?
The actual procedure takes under 10 minutes per eye; you will be in the LASIK suite for approximately two and a half hours.

Will I have to take time off from work?
You will need to rest your eyes that evening, but the next day most patients are active.
